Disability Discrimination Law

In most countries, it is illegal to discriminate against someone with a disability. Usually, Disability Discrimination Law pertains to an employee's rights within his/her place of employment. In the workplace, a disabled employee has certain rights that are protected by the government regardless of the state he/she is employed in. Outside of federal laws that heavily protect disabled persons, there are state disability discrimination laws that further protect them from discrimination, unlawful termination from employment, and any other mistreatment to employees who are disabled or handicapped in any way. All facilities within the organization must accommodate those with disabilities; if they do not, they must fix the insufficient accommodation(s) right away.

All employers are required to let all disabled employees to be informed and notified of any emergency exits, special accommodations and/or considerations for any physical limitations. Also, under Disability Discrimination Law, an employer must know all the rights his/her disabled employee has under the law.
