Employer-employee Relations

Employer-employee relations refer to the communication that occurs between employers and the representations of employees. This discussion usually includes topics such as pay, bonuses, the work environment, disputes, work schedules, grievances, health and safety, and work goals. Bruce Abel, an employment lawyer in Los Angeles, gives the following advice to employers to help them improve employee morale, productivity, and decrease lawsuits. Abel advises to continually educate employees about anti-discrimination laws, to listen to employees' perspectives, to always treat employees with respect and dignity, and to never retaliate if an employee reports discrimination. Abel also insists that the ways that an employer handles internal charges of racial discrimination is "critical to employee morale as well as the financial bottom line". Instead of working together for the success of a company and the employees' benefit, workers and employers often find themselves at odds. This is unnecessary because both goals can be achieved mutually.
