Employer Pension

Employer pensions can take one or more of several forms. For starters, employers are not required to provide workers with any form of pension plan, but if they do provide a pension plan for workers, no workers can be discriminated against from receiving benefits. Pension plans occur in both the public and private sector, although both sectors have struggled to maintain more encompassing pension funds based on the sheer number of workers eligible in some cases. Pension plans, in their most basic definition, are arrangements that provide a worker some form of compensation in the event that worker no longer is working. Eligibility for pension benefits depends on the exact employer that is providing the pension. Additionally, other workers will not become eligible for pension benefits until they reach a certain age, while pensions for disabled workers may be issued over a period of time, regardless of the age of the worker.
