Home Health Work

Home health work refers to health care employment within a private home. Home health work is often referred to as domiciliary care or home care. Either way, the work entails providing healthcare services in the privacy of a patient's home. It is not uncommon for a home health caregiver to be related or close to the patient. It is important to note that individuals who perform home health work are licensed and professional personnel. In the U.K., home health workers are represented by the United Kingdom Homecare Association (UKHCA). In many countries, home health work is regulated by a governing body or set of laws. These laws are designed to protect both the patients and the health care workers. Typically home health care workers must be certified by the state they work in.
