Nevada Labor Law

As with most US states, Nevada is an "employment-at-will" state, meaning that an employer may terminate an employee for any reason, or for no reason at all, although the employer cannot terminate an employee for illegal reasons such as sex, race, color, national origin, religion, or disability. Employees in Nevada are given one ten-minute rest period for every three-and-one-half hours worked, and an unpaid, uninterrupted meal period of thirty minutes if they work for eight hours in one day. If an employer requires an employee to wear a uniform or accessories distinctive in style, color, or material, the employer must provide them without cost to the employee. Nevada also has overtime regulations consistent with most states in the US. An employer must pay an employee time and one-half of an employee's regular wages if the employee works over forty hours in one workweek. Employees who earn up to one-and-one-half times the minimum wage may also be entitled to overtime if they work more than eight hours in one workday.
