Ohio Employment Law

Ohio employment law is required to follow the federal employment laws ratified in Congress, but each state has their own right to regulate employment on issues that the federal government has elected not to regulate. Additionally, states are allowed to offer their employees more protection that is currently offered by federal legislation. Some notable employment laws in Ohio, which differ from other states and federal law, includes a minimum wage higher than, but tied to current federal minimum wage increase. In addition, Ohio employment law provides protection for workers facing wage garnishment for up to one garnishment per year with no retribution from their employer.
