The United States Pension Rights Center is dedicated to promoting and protecting the pension rights of U.S. retirees and workers. The center was founded in 1976 and is comprised of two components. First, the center focuses on ways to strengthen pension plans. Secondly, the center explores the possibility of a private pension system for workers in the future. In general, the term pension rights refer to the retirement rights of working U.S. citizens. These rights are often stipulated by the pension plan. For example, a privately owned pension plan might feature different rights that that of an employer-funded plan.
