Workplace Safety Articles

The U.S. Department of Labor ("DOL") maintains extensive publications online, including a large number of workplace safety articles. Workplace safety issues are governed by the Occupational Safety and Health Act which is overseen by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration ("OSHA"). Nearly all workplace safety issues are governed by OSHA or OSHA-approved state programs. Both OSHA and OSHA-approved regulations apply to all public sector employers and all OSH Act covered employers. The DOL website (www.dol.gov) publishes numerous workplace safety articles through the Bureau of Labor Statistics (www.bls.gov) as part of their annual Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses. Included in the articles are annual workplace injury and illness statistics, surveys of occupational injuries and illness, as well as many other workplace safety articles. Most of the workplace safety articles are organized according to data from each fiscal year, within each category are supplemental news releases and related articles.
