Workplace Safety Software

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration ("OSHA") oversees workplace safety management through the implementation of the Occupational Safety and Health ("OSH") Act. Nearly all workplace safety management is governed by OSHA or OSHA-approved state programs. Both OSHA and OSHA-approved regulations apply to all public sector employers and all employers covered under the OSH Act. In order to implement safety regulations, OSHA developed a workplace safety software program called e-PRCS in 2000 that facilitates employer compliance with the rules and regulations and provides addition assistance through text and links related to OSHA compliance information. OSHA e-PRCS workplace safety software allows employers to update their compliance programs more efficiently in less time while increasing awareness of OSHA requirements. Overall, the workplace safety software developed in 2000 increases the likelihood that an employer will be able to achieve OSHA compliance.

Fast Facts
