Is it a violation of California Labor Laws to disclose one of our ex employees was fired to our customers?

One of our former employees was recently fired for some recent behavioral and other issues I won't disclose on here. He had a client base thats being taken over by another employee at our firm, would it be against the law to disclose he was terminated to the clients and/or state the reasons as to why?

California has a pro employment based labor law of "firing at will" with very few unlawful violations. Thus, the reason for his termination seems completely valid, and as to respect to disclosing he was simply fired to his former clients, there is nothing that seems wrong about that. However, if private details about the ex employee are disclosed which you would assume are matters he'd wish to keep private, then that may be violating labor relation privacy laws in California.
