Arizona Churches Offer Job Assistance to Communities
July 10, 2009
With many thousands of people out of work, the Arizona government and its non-profit agencies are struggling to assist all of those citizens who need it. For this reason, many churches and religious organizations have stepped up and are now offering services to aide their congregation and community members.
Many faiths are implementing programs that allow their neighbors to form support groups. These groups help with networking, career coaching and give hope back to the unemployed. The federal government has even stepped in and provided some funding for these programs, because many of the agencies, which are usually federally funded, are swamped.
Community members are invited into the churches to meet with other individuals who have lost their jobs and potential employers. Some churches even throw in a Bible story to boot.
