FOX Reporter Sues for Wrongful Termination, Blames Scientologists

June 23, 2009

Though FOX claims that he was fired for posting comments on Foxnews.com about watching an illegally pirated movie on the Internet, Roger Friedman claims that he was wrongfully terminated by the corporation. He believes that the Scientologists, who are believed to have a great deal of clout in Hollywood and who took offense to his column blasting the religion, are behind the firing.

At a funeral of a close friend, Kelly Preston, the wife of John Travolta, approached Friedman and reproached him for his lack of objectivity. He believes that after the column, he was condemned by the Scientologist population and that they were able to influence FOX and cause his termination.

However, the executives at FOX have said that his lack of respect for 20th Century Fox (the company, which produced the film that he watched illegally) and the entire company was what forced him to the chopping block.
