William Baudler Appointed Regional Attorney In Labor Board's Oakland, Ca Regional Office

General Counsel Arthur F. Rosenfeld of the National Labor Relations Board today announced the appointment of William Baudler as Regional Attorney in the agency's Oakland, CA Regional Office (Region 32). A career NLRB attorney, Mr. Baudler had been serving as the Deputy Regional Attorney in the San Francisco, CA office (Region 20).

In his new position, Mr. Baudler will be responsible for the supervision of the legal work in NLRB cases arising in Region 32, which services parts of central and northern California, including the Oakland, San Jose and Fresno areas, and northern Nevada. He will work under the supervision of Regional Director Alan Reichard.

The NLRB administers and enforces the National Labor Relations Act. It conducts secret ballot elections to determine whether employees desire union representation, and investigates and remedies unfair labor practice charges.

In announcing the appointment, General Counsel Rosenfeld stated:

Will Baudler has achieved a distinguished record in his career with the agency. He has performed exceedingly well in all his assignments and has demonstrated the judgment and ability to assume the position of Regional Attorney. The combination of his legal, analytical and supervisory skills will serve the agency well.

Mr. Baudler joined the NLRB in 1987 as an attorney in the Appellate Court Branch in Washington, DC. In 1996, he transferred to Region 20, where he was promoted to the position of trial specialist in 1998, Supervisory Attorney in 2001, and Deputy Regional Attorney in January 2003.

A native of Austin, Minnesota, Mr. Baudler received a B.A. degree in psychology (1975) and a J.D. degree (1979) from the University of Minnesota. Upon graduation from law school, he was engaged in the private practice of law for seven years prior to joining the NLRB.

Mr. Baudler and his wife, Carol, live in Mill Valley, California. They have one daughter, Rachael. He also has two step-daughters, Tina and Becka.
