New Jersey's Law Against Discrimination prohibits discrimination against individuals and employees if the discrimination is based on one of the following protected characteristics: race, national origin, nationality, creed, color, ancestry, age, sex (including pregnancy), marital status, domestic partnership status, familial status, affectional or sexual orientation, atypical hereditary cellular or blood trait, genetic information, liability for military service, and mental or physical disability, perceived disability, and AIDS and HIV status.

Discrimination that is not based on the above referenced protected characteristics is not illegal in New Jersey.  For example, a manager could treat an employee differently because he is a Mets fan and the manager is a die hard Yankees fan.  This is certainly discrimination.  However, it is not discrimination based on a protected characteristic.  Therefore, this is not illegal discrimination pursuant to the Law Against Discrimination.
